Theatre Madness - Hey there! LOVE your blog! I was wondering if you could answer some questions? I’m 14, and I’ve always adored musical theatre. I’ve always wanted to get involved in community theatre. I found theatres who do productions but — I’ve had no technical training, I went to a few auditions and made a complete fool of myself next to all the others. I don’t /look/ like the kind of person who’d be in theatre and everyone who goes to them knows each other and such, and I know /no one/. Any advice?

Just get on out there! You never know what will happen until you try! Also, how will you ever know anyone in the theatre if you never go out and meet anyone? :) You won’t always get cast though, so don’t be discouraged if it takes a couple times. Also, maybe you could ease into things by auditioning for a school show? This way, you already know the people and it can be a little more comfortable for you.
